Input and output

In this weeks lecture we talked about the benefits of different input and output devices for computers. New innovations such as RFID, Goog-411 and Google Wallet were all creations to improve the speed at which we do them and the efficiency of tasks.  RFID is radio frequency identification which contains many advantages over barcodes and seemingly appears to be the next innovation to be used to scan items quicker and more efficient. Goog-411 is Google's attempt to better their voice recognition service. Although the service was shut down, it still was an innovated idea that will soon prepare for the future of voice recognition.
Another beneficial device that was created is QR codes.  These small square boxes of code have the ability to store a written message and a verbal message.  These codes have a very quick response and can be placed on almost everything.  The QR code design consists of small black modules that when scanned shows a message that was encoded.
By having QR codes and voice recognition devices it will be a great way for artists to communicate to their fans on my website.  After a show the band members can create a voice message thanking their fans.  By turning it into a QR codes, fans on the website will be able to view the message.

  1. Excellent job tying this back to lecture. Also, nice job mentioning how QR codes can be used for voice recognition. Have you heard of the mobile app Shazam? It's conceptually quite similar -- you may want to check it out.

They could even perhaps use the QR codes for set lists at shows, tickets, bio information, etc. The opportunities are endless, all it takes is a bit of creativity.

Something to think about -- why would QR codes not help with your site? Are they resource intensive, burdensome, etc?
